Civil Ceremonies
Civil Ceremonies in Wicklow – The Parkview Hotel Newtownmountkennedy is a perfect choice.... with floor to ceiling windows, chandeliers and moodlighting to create the perfect atmosphere.
Important changes in Irish marriage law took effect from November 2007, meaning it is now possible for civil marriages to be held at venues other than Registry Offices or Churches for the first time.
We can provide wedding couples with their complete wedding package including the opportunity to host your civil ceremony or partnership.
The Parkview Hotel is the ideal venue for your very own unique and personalised wedding ceremony, therefore, the choice is yours, as to whether you wish for a more traditional Church ceremony in one of the many churches in the area or whether you wish to have a civil ceremony or partnership at our hotel as we are licensed to host a civil ceremony.
Complimentary room hire, a floral arrangement and chair covers, are all included with our civil ceremonies and are tailored to your requirements.
If you are getting married by civil ceremony at the hotel, in a Registry Office or other approved place, you should approach the Registrar of Civil Marriages for the district in which you intend to marry for information on how to proceed. There is no requirement to live in the district where you want to get married.
As well as arranging your civil marriage ceremony there is also a requirement to give 3 months’ notification to a Registrar. This does not have to be the same Registrar. Venues such as marquees, private dwellings or the open air are not acceptable. The Guidelines for Marriage Venues are available on the General Registrar's website.
We have hosted numerous civil ceremonies, blessings, humanist ceremonies and other multi-denominational ceremonies.
